DONOR EGG PROGRAM

Egg Recipient

The Fertility Center, with offices in York and Lancaster PA, offers egg donation to help couples build families. Egg donation is an emotional and time intensive experience but can offer a realistic successful option for couples. Some women are unable to conceive for a variety of reasons. Women who are good candidates for egg donation include: women who have never had a period, women who stopped menstruating at an early age, women who produced few egg or who have an elevated FSH level and women who have had multiple failed IVF cycles.

The most common recipients of donor eggs are women that are 40 years of age and older. Experienced IVF center such as The Fertility Center have a clinical pregnancy rate of 50-60%.

Egg Donor

Egg donation involves a donor selected by the recipient couple, either known or anonymous. The process of IVF (in-vitro-fertilization) and egg donation requires that the donor take a series of injectable medications which induce the growth of multiple eggs. The eggs are removed and fertilized with the recipient's partner's sperm. The resulting embryos are then transferred to the recipient's uterus.

The donor screening process includes: completion of a medical and genetic history questionnaire, an interview, a physical exam, a psychological interview and blood work for infectious and genetic testing. Basic donor qualifications include: healthy women between the ages of 21-30 with normal weight and no history of smoking or drug use.

Our donor program has brought much happiness and joy to area couples. For information on becoming an egg donor or recipient please call our office at 717-747-3099 or email at fertilitycenter@Thefertilitycenter.com
