Yoga for Conception
Many people have found that yoga can improve your body and your spirit. Some of the poses can help adjust your body and make it even more ready for conception. If you’re trying to add some exercise into most days of your life, try out some of these poses.
A Pose For You
Staff pose: walking around in heels can misalign your pelvic floor, hindering conception. Sit on the floor, legs out in front of you, hands on the ground. Straighten your legs and flex your feet to stretch out your calves.
Alternating knee to chest: Sitting at a desk can make your hip flexors tight, and this move can release tension and improve your hip alignment. Lie on your back, legs straight and on the ground. Alternate pulling one knee up tightly to your chest, and holding in place for a count of three.
Bridge pose: This will connect your hips, pelvis, and lower back, while stimulating your immune system and hormone production. Lie flat on your back and put your feet flat on the floor with bent knees. Lift your hips, keeping a line between your shoulders and knees, and hold for a few seconds.
Yogini squat: Squatting helps you build a strong pelvic floor, which is good for both carrying a baby and labor. Squat, with your feet slightly wider than hips. Then, squat lower, until your weight is entirely in your heels and your rear is close to the floor. Sit up as straight as you can, and for more support put your elbows against the inside of your knees.
