Shiny Shoes And Pencil Shavings
Even miracles take a little time - Cinderella
When August comes around every year, I smell pencil shavings. I’m sure they’re practically impossible to find now, but do you remember the manual pencil sharpener attached to a post at the back of the classroom?
It also makes me think of new shoes that needed to be shined. Soap from being squeaky clean after getting my hair cut. And the sound of a brand-new notebook page as it turned, endless pages of blank, white potential.
Come August, it was a time of new possibilities. New plans. New goals. New dreams. What would I accomplish this year? What new things would I get to do? What antics would my friends and I get into?
While most of us aren’t in school anymore, a new school year still feels like a time of new beginnings. It can be a fresh start. If you’re facing infertility, now can be the time to look into what options you may have – there are more than you think!

P.S. We know it can be emotional or uncomfortable to talk about infertility. We train our staff to go well above and beyond standard office needs, but to be as caring and comforting as possible with our patients.
